Matakana Market Adventures

While I sit here in my favourite comfy pants, wondering when the next time I might be able to shop at the supermarket without feeling anxious might be, I can’t help but reminisce on one of my all time favourite weekend activities.

As a huge foodie, I love hitting up the farmers markets and getting some great products and produce from some of the local growers and vendors. One of my favourites being the Matakana Market, just north of Auckland centre and held every Saturday morning.

I absolutely love heading up the coast in the summer to hit up the hustle and bustle of the famous market and grabbing a few of my favourites. Luckily we recently were able to take a trip North, with a stop off of course meaning my pantry is lined with a few of my favourites from the market.

My all-time favourite nut butter selection comes from the market. Their nut butter selection is amazing and all are vegan, gluten-free, homemade, fresh, and simply delicious. My favourite blends are the smooth peanut butter and almond and chocolate butter, which I love to spread on my banana loaf muffins.

Bite Me Food Truck

Possibly my all-time favourite food truck is Bite Me. The dumplings are so deliciously flavoured and are a 100% must every time we head up.

I cannot wait for a Saturday morning to head north again and do the things we did before isolation came. Heres to hoping that will be pretty soon!
